My Summer

Oh where do I begin with my summer..? My summer consisted of mainly two things, working my 3rd year at The Hockey Development Center (HDC) and playing Amateur baseball (townball) for the Hampton Cardinals. At work I got to meet a bunch of local Pro hockey players in the NHL like Zach Parise and his brother Jordan, Stafford, Jonathan Toews... etc. I was very fortunate to work under the supervision of the ex-Minnesota Wild strength and conditioning coach Kirk Olsen. Baseball was a huge shocker being it was a rebuilding year for us. I played every game at second base and helped the team to the State Tournament in Gaylord and Arlington, MN. We unfortunately lost in the second round of the Tourney but it was a great experience and we are making another run at it next year!

It's good to be back tho!!

My Summer

Hey guys!

This summer I worked as a nanny for two little girls (ages 3 and 6). It was a blast! We spent our days at the beach, playgrounds and occasionally at the zoo! While I wasn't at work I spent time with friends from high school. It was great to see and spend time with them again!

Hope you all enjoyed your summer! Welcome back :)

Hi everyone!

Hi there! I'm learning how to use blogs in Information Literacy! The hardest part is being able to type with my big paws. My summer was sooooo quiet! I'm glad the students are back!

My Summer

Hey there everyone!

I had a pretty good summer. It seemed like it went by really fast. I worked at the City of Prior Lake which went pretty well. I enjoyed seeing some close friends as well as hanging out with the family. Good luck to all this year and I look forward to seeing everyone.

P.S. I miss Joe Kuech

Summer

Hello again,
I just copy and pasted my e mail that i sent to everyone. I have figured out how to now use the blog. Disregard the first sentence of my post. I had a great summer though.
Mike
Hello everyone,
I too can not seem to figure out how to post on this blog.
My summer was just a ball of fire. I worked in the Gustavus Custodial Department and
cleaned floors and rooms all summer. I visited Mr. Joe Kuech a couple of times at the
the glorious Blue Earth Wal*Mart. If no one has ever been, then let me tell you it is a
trip worth making. It is one of only two non super center Wal*Marts in the whole United
States. Ok back to summer. I made a wonderful trip to Canada this summer and went cliff
jumping, and also attended the the second best Giant Days celebration in the state of
Minnesota. That was the highlight of my summer.

summer...

Hey all,
Like many of you, my summer flew by much too quickly! I was a substitute teacher at a Headstart Migrant program this summer but ended up working at home for my dad. I also spent a ton of time at our cabin with my family and friends jet skiing and experimenting with a kite tube - renamed The Tube of Death! Overall it was a great summer; it's hard to come back for school, but will be fun to see everyone again!

Hello everyone, my name is Robbie Porter and well this summer was very interesting. I had surgery on my left knee and spent all summer trying to get myself back to full strength. Hope everyone had a great summer and can’t wait to meet the class on Wednesday!

P.S. I miss you more Joe Kuech

Summer

hello

this past summer I worked at the rec. center in the metropolis of Lake Crystal, life guarding, teaching swimming lessons, and occasionally helped with a fit kids program there. I also took a summer psychology course at MSU. I did manage to have a little leisure time, I spent a lot of time on Crystal lake and I also went to Wefest with a bunch of friends

My Summer

Hello hello!

I spent my summer in the state of Iowa working and playing volleyball. I lived in a studio (which we nick-named "the shack" because of its size) with a fellow friend a block away from a lake. It was the perfect summer for me just laying on the dock by that good ol' lake!

I'll see you guys in class! :)

My Summer

Hello all! This summer I worked at a YMCA summer camp up in Detroit Lakes, MN called Camp Cormorant. This being the second summer working out there I had the opportunity to be both a camp counselor and the ropes course director this summer. I worked with kids ages 6-15 and had a blast making kids summers the most fun that they could be!

My Summer

Hello! My fun summer trip was going to Duluth, MN. I have only been there one other time when I was a child and I didn't remember a thing about it. I walked around Canal Park with my boyfriend and friends. We also had a good time going to Gooseberry Falls and sight-seeing.
My fellow Gusties-

I spent the entirety of my fun and unique summer working at our local Blue Earth Wal*Mart in beautiful and scenic southern Minnesota. If that's not more "unique" than other summer experiences, I don't know what is! Yes, I did just receive my five year pin and commemorative plaque, so that was, without a doubt, the high point of June-July-August. It's hanging in my room as we speak. Happy as a clam to be back and see all your shining faces again, though! Wednesday can't come soon enough...ugh. Kidding of course, Jeanne and Joyce.

For real though, this is going to be a great semester, so everyone get your game faces on. Looks like we've got a great class roster, so I'm expecting big things!

See you in a couple.

P.S. I miss Mike Jirik and Robbie Porter

Welcome back everyone.
I hope you had a nice summer.
Mine was great...took some trips, visited some old friends, walked a lot, and finished some projects from my leave last spring.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you in class this week.

Welcome to the NEW Info Lit blog!

Welcome back to school and to the HES237 blog!

This course will introduce you to a variety of teaching technologies that will broaden your understanding of technology and help you to become an innovative and effective teacher.

This blog is a place to share, reflect, comment, and learn together throughout the semester, with both formal assignments and informal conversations. So please be sure to subscribe to this blog and become a frequent visitor and contributor. =)

There are just a few basic rules that we expect all to follow:
  1. Use good writing, including spelling, grammar, and no profanity.
  2. Respect other people's opinions and thoughts.

To get things started, please begin by writing a few sentences about something you did this summer that was either fun or unique before our first class on Wednesday, September 9th. This is just an exercise in getting you comfortable posting a comment on the blog and getting to know one another. If you want to comment on other classmates posts, feel free - as long as you follow the basic rules! =) Look forward to a great semester with you all.
